Svadhisthana represents the second chakra, known as the center of the cross or sacral chakra, it is the energy center located in the area of the sacrum bone, and it is the energetic representation of creativity, sexual energies and primal emotions in their pure state.

As an element it represents water, which is the origin of every existing life form and which, on the astrological plane corresponds to the emotional sphere. Water fertilizes and continually produces new life.

Through this chakra, we are participants in the process of fertilization, and we receive those energies that permeate nature. Thus, we can see ourselves as part of an incessant creative process which manifests in us through emotions and creativity.

It is orange in color and it is associated with emotions and sexuality.

Relevant to this are both the male reproductive organs, which possess within them the capacity to generate new life, and the female organs, where the growing being is nurtured, protected and supplied with everything necessary for its development.

All this is evidenced on the physical plane by the purifying functions of water, kidneys and bladder, while on the spiritual plane it manifests itself in the form of expressed feelings, in an immediate and free form, that allow us to look at life as something ever new and primal.

Our interpersonal relationships, are mainly influenced by the second chakra.

The many expressions of Eros belong to its sphere of influence, as does the desire to abandon the limitations of the ego and experience in sexual union a greater sense of wholeness.

The characteristics of the second chakra are emotional, receptive, encompassing passion and sensitivity.
