Anahata represents the fourth chakra that is located at the level of the cardiac plexus, between the two nipples, also called the heart chakra.

As an element it represents air, which encompasses transformation and healing. It is associated with our ability to feel pure and unconditional love, to empathically attune to everything that exists and to grasp the beauty and perfection of it, as well as to know how to care for ourselves and others.

When this chakra is healthy it enables us to love deeply, experience mercy and a deep sense of peace.

It is green in color, and it is represented with twelve petals.

This chakra quintessentially represents love, peace, happiness, relationship with others, compassion and balance.

It is easy for this chakra to be hurt, damaged, belittled which is connected to our ability to love, to the quality of our love.

Although we live in a culture obsessed with power, we are nevertheless driven by the need for love. Without it, there is no binding force that holds the world together.

Its imbalance on the physical side can cause cardiac dysfunction, pulmonary dysfunction, hypertension, and asthma, while its imbalance on the psychological side causes attitudes of obsessiveness, indifference and selfishness.
